Some Tips to Help You During This Covid Time

Wollap guys, I hope you’re all doing well. Yaani mnaamini we are almost halfway into the year ama it’s just me who’s having a hard time believing that? Oh, the plans I had for 2020, I guess I’ll just have to raincheck on them. Kwanza that ka boys’ trip we had planned later this year with Sospeter and Wafula… Makasiriko tu.

 

Despite the circumstances, I’ve been trying to stay positive msee and I think you should too. Na look forward to when all this is over. We may or may not be close to the end of COVID but that hasn’t stopped me from thinking ‘alafu’.

 

Those who still have their jobs should count themselves lucky. Na pia kama umelose job usigive up. This situation has got me thinking of ways I can improve my situation now so that when life is back to normal (even the slightest bit) nitakuwa tu poa. So niko na mawaidha kadhaa.

 

  1. Clear your debts:

You might be looking at that deni you have that is in the thousands and wondering if you will ever maliza it. The trick to this is to clear it pole pole. Every month make a deposit and before you know it, itakuwa imeisha. Wanasemanga haba na haba…

 

  1. Draw up a budget:

Wacha niwaambie vile nilikuwa nikispend when I got my first stable job! Hiyo pesa, I look back and wish I had done things of maana with it. Sahii ningekuwa mbali J But you know when you’ve been broke for a while alafu uguze pesa, issa wrap! What has saved me is budgeting. Allocate different sums of your chums for different needs and wants. You can still have enjoyment when you create a sustainable entertainment budget too, so usijifungie sana. But don’t just spend money bila mpango when it comes, coz you’ll have a very hard time accounting where it all went when that bank account reads zero (just ask me).

 

  1. Save:

I cannot stress this enough. If there’s a time you should be saving, it’s now. Your spending expenses are less if you’re working from home, so take advantage of this opportunity. Rainy days are unpredictable given the current sitch and we know you want to be orait in case things go left, sindio? 

 

  1. Declutter:

And I mean this in terms of everything that serves you no purpose anymore (wueh, mnipee cheo ya motivational speaker sasa). Whether it’s all that junk in the crib, bad habits, company that isn’t good for you (kwanza now that we’re on lockdown and isolating, you have an excuse to not see those people anymore, at least for a while…), you need to slowly rid these out of your lives.

 

These are the things I’m working on myself, si kuwaambia tu. Baby steps. Mkumbuke maisha bado inatungoja when all this is over. So we best be prepared au sio?
