KCB has a rich footprint in golf sponsorship that spans many years. The Bank has in the past two decades invested over KShs. 400 million in various tournaments – local, regional, and international competitions, with a robust aim of elevating the sport to elite levels while positioning Kenya on the global map as a golfing destination. In 2023, KCB launched its inaugural golf tournament dubbed ‘KCB East Africa Golf Tour’ that traversed twelve counties in Kenya and three countries in the East African region – Rwanda, Burundi, and Uganda. The series was successful reaching over 1500 participants and over 800 juniors and ladies in the golf clinics that ran concurrently with the regional tourney. This year, the Bank injected KShs. 65 million into the 2024 edition of the golf series which is expected to feature 3000 top amateur golfers, 1000 juniors and 500 ladies. The top teams from each qualifying leg will meet at the tour’s grand finale on December 6. The winning team at the grand finale will be awarded KShs. 1 million channeled towards a sustainability initiative in their home club and a chance to participate in the 2025 Magical Kenya Ladies Open at the Baobab Course, Vipingo Ridge in Kilifi County.
