Two Wheel Drive Non Turbo Buggy Class Champion and leader Zameer Verjee is looking forward to this weekend's KCB Kenya National Autocross 6 event with great expectations.
In the meantime, the Karen based driver is putting his best foot forward in order to overcome the gremlins which denied him victory on Kilifi's Round 5 last month where he finished third behind Gurraj Singh and Rahul Patel.
"The buggy is more or less ready for Sunday's event. We are putting final touches to ensure all is well," said Zameer.
As the clock continues to tick on the VCCCK round, Zameer is leaving nothing to chance. He is preparing his buggy meticulously at his Karen backyard to ensure he rediscovers the much-needed reliability from his championship-winning Rage Buggy.
For Zameer, Kilifi's excruciating experience is one thing he would want to forget in a hurry.
"After the first heat, the buggy was cutting off but we weren't sure what the issue was, only until the third heat when we discovered it was the oil pressure sensor that gave way and went to safe mode hence cutting of the buggy," he said of his woes, adding: "But we still managed to finish in a credible position."
Zameer : The solutions for a good drive I'll leave it with my Dad a.k.a Doctor, and we pray for the best.
I am awaiting some parts from the UK, however, looking at a makeshift solution to get some points on the board. Mombasa Motor Club event wasn't in our favour due to mechanical issues but that's part of the sport, some you win, some you lose! I hope to have a trouble- free run and deliver lots of pace."
Janhuri has always remained a favorable hunting ground for Zameer and here is what he says about his return to the track this weekend.
'Its always an interesting track but rough. I really look forward to the fun and sideways, but most importantly, I would like to bounce back from my Kilifi gremlins. I want to give a special thanks to Athiani FM, Pewin Motors, Bounty, EZ Plants and most importantly our main sponsors Studio A-Z."
