Chess League Continues

KCB Chess Team had an impressive run in the Kenya Chess Premier League match this weekend in Kisumu winning 9 matches and drawing 1 cementing their position at the top of the table.

KCB played against Daystar University and Victoria Chess Club this weekend.

This is the first competitive game for the Chess team after the Olympiad Championship which ended earlier last month. Fide Master Martin Njoroge, Woman Fide Master Joyce Nyaruai, Candidate Master Ben Nguku and KCB Chess Captain Ben Magana were part of the team that represented the country.

“Our participation at the Olympiad exposed us to some serious and well-organized players around the world. We are trying to implement some of the tricks and experiences we got in India. The win today is a demonstration of the growth we have undergone. Going forward, we hope to keep on working hard to ensure we win the Kenya Chess Premier League Cup this year,” said Martin Njoroge.
