KCB Bank Kenya has joined the growing list of co-sponsors for the Magical Kenya Ladies Open which starts at Vipingo Ridge course on Thursday. Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Lawrence Kimathi who played in today's Pro-Am announced a Ksh. 5 million sponsorship package which makes the lender the official banking partner of the historic event.
The prestigious event brings to Africa the prestigious Ladies European Tour (LET) for the first time in history.
KCB Bank Kenya are the main sponsors of the Karen Masters, a Sunshine Tour sanctioned event which will be celebrating its fourth running in September next season.
“Golf is a sport that enjoys continued popularity—one that combines a premium outdoor experience with a sporting challenge. This is just one reason why golf is one of the sports KCB Bank has supported for many years. In addition to the Karen Masters, KCB has also supports the Road To Karen Masters and several corporate golf days and club nights.”
“Over and above the colossal golf sponsorship, the Bank also supports the National Autocross Championship, the local elite rally series (KNRC) and indeed the Safari Rally which rejoined the World Rally Championship after an 18 -year hiatus,” Kimathi said.
The lender also supports the crack rugby outfit, the ladies volleyball team and KCB chess club who play at the summit of sport in the country.

The Magical Kenya Ladies Open will take place from 5th to 8th December 2019 on Vipingo Ridge’s Baobab Course -the only (UK) PGA accredited golf course on the continent. The 72-hole stroke play competition which tees off on Thursday proves a significant milestone in the history of the sport in Kenya and works to motivate the next generation of female players throughout the country.
