Tiger Woods' niece Cheyenne Woods was the star attraction when the Pro-Am of the Magical Kenya Ladies Open teed off at Vipingo Ridge course this morning.
Cheyenne was drawn alongside Martha Vincent, Jean Ngengi and KCB Bank Chief Finance Officer Lawrence Kimathi. The four were the last group off the first tee.
Cheyenne is playing in Africa for the first time as an invitee of the Ladies European Tour (LET).
Magical Kenya Open Tournament Director Patrick Obath, his wife Terry Obath and former Kenya Golf Union Chairman Francis Okwara teed it up in the same group with French professional Astrid Vayson de Pradenne.
Another French professional Camille Chevalier was lined up along with Jamal Agil, Florence Karimi and George Gachanja.
The Pro-Am has attracted quite a big chunk of local ladies and male amateurs.
Action proper starts on Thursday morning through to Sunday with a 72 hole stroke-play competition.
Ruiru Sports Club Captain and KCB Bank Communications Manager Peter Mwaura started off from the tenth.tee with Germany pro Olivia Cowan and compatriots Susan Mwangi and Rufus Gichuki.
Also in the Pro-Am mix were Njeri Onyango, KCB Bank Kenya board member and KCB Bank Strategy Director Reginald Kikwai.
The Magical Kenya Ladies Open has attracted a stellar entry with leading pros from LET signed up for the momentous event.
Among them are 11 winners from LET who will be seeking for crucial Tour points as Kenya makes its debut on the prestigious series.
Austria's Christine Wolf who carded three-under 69 and totalled 277 for a three-shot victory in the Hero Women’s Indian Open at the DLF Golf and Country Club course in Gurugram is among those making the list of top players.
The Indian event was Christine's first title after six years on the Ladies European Tour.
Other top LET players entered for the main event include Beth Allen, the only American winner of the Order of Merit, as well as Norway’s Marianne Skarpnord, and front runner Esther Henseleit from Germany.
