KCB Chess team thrashed Black Knights 5-0 in the 2022 Kenya Chess League match over the weekend to stretch its lead at the summit of the ranking cross table to 10 points.
The team has garnered 37 points so far with only two league matches left to play in the current season. JKUAT sits second with 27 points while Nairobi Chess Academy and Club are third with 26 points.
Team captain Ben Magana said: “We have had a grueling season. The team has been solid all through despite the toughness of our opponents. We are hopeful we shall triumph in the two remaining matches and retain our crown.”
