KCB Chess team displayed a five-star performance as it walloped Eastland Chess club 5-0 in their final match of the season to win their third consecutive Kenya Chess Premier League Title.
KCB garnered 43 points ahead of Nairobi Chess Academy and Club which came 2nd with 29 points. Jomo Kenyatta University Chess club finished third with 27 points.
This is the first physical encounter in the chess league since 2019 as the league was played online due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
KCB Chess Club Team Manager Isaac Babu said, “This is a great outcome for our team as we managed to win all five games today going unbeaten throughout the season. We are happy to retain the title for the third time in a row as this is a testament to our prowess”
