KCB Rugby Club and KCB FC are in the market to recruit new players ahead of the new season.
The teams are looking to bolster their squads, having finished the season on a high, with Rugby winning the Kenya Cup while the football club finished second in the premier league.
KCB FC is set to acquire James Mazembe from Kariobangi Sharks among other players from across Clubs. “We are looking at the market. We want players at this club who will improve the squad and are willing to play for us. So, when an opportunity comes, we have enough resources to add into the squad the quality that we want,” Coach Ziko Otieno said,
Mazembe is one of the most decorated players in the Kenyan league and has amassed enough experience in his career.
KCB Rugby said it will sign a couple of new players. “Of course, we’re planning as we normally do, that’s an ongoing process. We’re looking at the squad and I hope we’re going to strengthen with two or three players [who] we definitely need to go for the title again next season. We have had a few players on injury that might come back in. There is interest in a few others going out. You want to come out of the transfer window strengthened. It’s difficult to say, I can’t see too many outgoings.” Said Coach Curtis Olago.
