KCB Bank Kenya on Saturday hosted 302 golfers for the Ruiru Sports Club 2022 Chairman’s Prize at the Thika Road-based facility. The tournament brought together professional golfers and top amateurs who battled out for top honors but it was Salome Mwaura, a handicap 20 golfer who emerged the overall winner. The sponsorship is part of the Bank's goal to continue nurturing emerging and established talent in golf, said Japheth Achola, the Group HR Director who was the chief guest at the event.
KCB has been the platinum sponsor for the Ruiru Sports Club Chairman’s Prize for the past 8 years and has spent over KShs.500 million on golf in the past 10 years across the country. The Bank is the biggest sports sponsor in East Africa, with footprints in football, volleyball, rugby, golf, athletics, and chess. Millicent Mello won the staff prize at the event hosted to mark the end of term for the Club Chairman Peter Mwaura.
