Eight-time Kenya Cup champions KCB RFC has signed Emmanuel Silungi from Homeboyz and Elvis Olukasi from Nakuru as they gear up for the start of the season next month. Silungi and Olukasi are expected to bolster their much-vaunted forward pack which has been the cornerstone of the bankers' dominance in the last seven seasons.
Assistant coach Dennis Mwanja said they have started their pre-season and are looking to tweak their various game plans and strategies ahead of what will be another competitive season. "We have started our preparations. We are big on planning. Attention to detail is key for us and we are just ensuring that, in the next couple of weeks, the players will be fit and ready for the start of another gruelling season," said Mwanja.
The core of the squad that did duty last season, winning a fourth consecutive Kenya Cup crown are still with the club including skipper Curtis Lilako, Oscar Simiyu, Nick Ongeri, Steve Wamai, and Patrick Ouko in the forwards with Kenya Seven stars Jacob Ojee, Vincent Onyala, and Darwin Mukidza, the pick of the backs.
