KCB RFC staged a late dramatic surge to beat Kabras RFC in the Kenya Cup Championship finals to win the title at Nandi Bears Club on Saturday.
The bankers have won the title for the fifth consecutive time. Interestingly, Kabras RFC has been the casualty in as much time.
Going into this final, Kabras was the favourite to win the title after having won their duel against KCB during the regular season. And the millers led 20-0 in the fast half before drowning in the second after a renewed surge by the bankers. The game levelled at 25-25 aside at the full time, before the bankers won it 28-25 in the extra time.
The few visiting KCB RFC fans were heard singing that they want to play against New Zealand now. While playing against All Blacks is not possible, KCB RFC has shown that they are better than the local league.
