KCB Teams undergo Anti-Doping Training in Nairobi

The Anti-Doping Association of Kenya has conducted an anti-doping training for KCB teams at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD).

The sports men and women have been taken through anti-doping rules violations, the Doping Control Process as well as the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) Prohibited List.

Speaking after the event, KCB FC head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Ochieng lauded the association for an eye-opening workshop which has been of help in shedding light to the athletes in as far as doping is concerned.

“This training is important to all our athletes because we have seen both local and international players being suspended or expelled from clubs because of doping related issues. As an example, Andre Onana of Ajax FC was suspended for more than six months for doping allegations which has had ripple effects on his professional career,” he said.

KCB FC, Volleyball and Chess teams were present for the workshop. Due to tight fixtures from the ongoing Kenya Cup 2021/2022, the Rugby team did not participate in the training.
