Coping With the Ongoing Covid19 Pandemic

Guys I hope you’ve been good since last week. This week has been a particularly dull one for me. Last week kulikiwa na madrama but this week has been a quiet one-ish. It’s good to see watu wametulia kiasi after the previous shenanigans I saw on these Twitter streets.

Being home all day without the freedom to go on abut with your normal life is a bust. Do you find yourself glued to your phone looking at the latest news ama ni mimi tu? I’ve read article after article about COVID19 and there is no end in sight. Anxiety levels for a lot of people I’m sure zinapanda daily. I know mine are for sure. So how are some of the ways ya’ll are dealing with it all?

Let me share my experience. Eh, thank God we are living in this era of social media coz enyewe it has been my saving grace in keeping me from dying from extreme boredom. I am entertained DAILY by the things I see when I log onto my twirra and IG. Guys, keep the challenges coming. People have been extra creative these past few weeks for real J

I’ve also been really learning to appreciate the small things. Najua ni hard, given the situation. I’ve been complaining, na najua pia nyinyi mna makasiriko. You can’t go dunda, you can’t mingle and see your friends or famo, some of us tumelose majob, it’s hard to be grateful, but trust me, there is always something to be grateful for. Watu wa ‘bora uhai’ are we together?

Sospeter aliniwozzap call juzi and we had a long chat reassuring each other. Call your people, it goes a long way for both of you. Check up on that pal who lives solo, tunateseka my fren, let me not lie to you. Call that your elderly neighbor who might need your help kufanya shopping. Throw a bash online with your peeps (I don’t think this hasn’t been done a couple of times already lol).

Also, I’ve not been putting pressure on myself to accomplish a million things. Yes, we have a bit more time to do things we usually wouldn’t be able to with a busy work week, but don’t feel guilty if you come out of this still not knowing how to bake J haha. Taking care of your health mentally, emotionally and physically should be your top priority.

Anywei wasee, I’m hopeful. I really am. I hope when we get out of this terrible experience we’ll get out as better people, as better friends, better sons, daughters, huzzies, wives, you name it. Msilose hope. All those plans you had for the year, hold on to that. Make more. Mimi  have a list of all the things I’m dying to do when all this is over. It keeps you going. Na wale watu wa Ruaka wenye bado wanathrow ma house party, wacheni, priss?

Over and Out,

The Witty Banker.
