How Are Our Savings Looking This COVID19 Period

Wasee wangu, niaje? How are ya’ll doing? Let me just start by saying that yes, I have been walking around my esto to keep fit as promised. Si we were supposed to keep tabs on each other. Obesity is not my portion this 2020. Mmeanza fitness routine ama mnathink what counts is on the inside?

Anyway kuexercise na hio mask si jokes. Unajipata umehema hema huko ndani, yaani at some point I thought I was going to pass out. But what can we do? Sina pesa ya fine. Also ati people caught breaking the quarantine rules will be placed in police quarantine! Can ya’ll imagine that! Catch me outside how bout dat! (if you know I know)

Which brings me to today’s agenda; shmoney! Eeeh, some of you are now paying extra attention huh… These past two months as much as nimekuwa nikiwapigia udaku hapa mdogo mdogo I have been doing a bit of self-reflecting. It’s kinda hard not to when you’re all alone kwa hao yako. It fikas a point you have to stop talking to the walls and utensils and search within (I have also been really thinking of getting a pet, like a cat. They are a bit low maintenance I think. As long as they are fed they’re good).

A lot of us have been WFH for about two months and counting and no lie nimeona such an improvement in my savings. Sitaki kusema COVID19 ni poa but staying at home has really helped my struggling bank account J. I’ve been steadily saving my coins. Salo ikiingia hivi, after kilupa these a million bills, I send money straight to my account all via my KCB App.

I mean, unatumia doh kufanya nini anyway? There’s no derailment for enjoyment, mama mboga ule wa pale esto ndio your closest human contact. All we can look forward to is house shopping at Carrefour (am I the only one who dresses up for this? Honest answers only…) Ama you guys are the ones who go restaurant hopping to buy one sausage? Oh Kenyans; I love my country pipo J

Also something that’s helping me save a lot is my change in diet. Niliwashow last week you thought I was playin’. It has been hard refraining from making those Jumia orders for KFC wings wacha nisiwadanganye! This lockdown has taught me self-control msee! But ya, eating healthy=less spending on junk food and outside deliveries=more money in my savings account. Ebu do the math; you spend 5k on outside food in a week how much is that in a month?

My guys, sitashikika after this pandemic is over. Pesa otas. I told ya’ll a trip is coming when all this boils over. I’ll be sure to post on the gram mskie wivu. Keep it posted. Kwanza I hope nitakuwa nimepata dame at least ndio nifanye ruracio kabla pesa ziishe.

On a serious note aside from saving and keeping healthy physically, mentally and emotionally, STAY HOME. Wengine wenu mkiendelea hivi this whole Nairobi will be on lockdown si Eastleigh tu. Are we togeza? Wacha tupatane next week. Nitawashow how many kgs I’ve lost J

Over&Out,

The Witty Banker.
