Heh, wasee juzi nilikuwa nimeenda City Market kununua nyama nikapita ule msee wetu wa kujipima weight. My mind flashed back to how I’ve been chilling at home tu nikikula during this quarantine. My movement has been very limited over these past few weeks so I couldn’t resist. Woi, ningempita tu.
Najua nimekuwa nikitaka kunona kiasi coz this my small body apana. Guys, be careful what you wish for. It had been a minute since I last weighed myself and the results two days ago were a wow. Let’s just say I got what I wanted. On that note guys, how many of you are keeping fit? Really?
It’s so easy kujipata umekaa the whole day binge watching your fav series and snacking all day. Sidebar, I really need to stop including lots of junk in my shopping coz nimekuwa nikikula vibaya these past few weeks. It will be hard but nitamek. Otherwise nitakuwa obese by the end of this lockdown.
As I was scrolling down my Insta feed minding my business (and snacking J) nikaona one of our rugby players lifting a gearbox ni kama ilikuwa karatasi. I’m sure ya’ll have seen other fitness challenges making rounds all over social media. People are really trying to keep busy on these social media streets huh.
Anyhu, me being that person mwenye huingia gym kuuliza subscription ya month ni pesa ngapi (najua tuko wengi msee, don’t lie J) then I ghost, I cannot attempt some of these things. Hii maisha ni lazima you know when to stick to your lane. But it’s important to keep fit and stay healthy during this time. It’s also importanter to know what works for you and what doesn’t.
Since hatuwezi enda gym (happy on the inside), something as simple was walking around your esto can go a long way. That is if you’re not a person of running like me (baby steps though, we will get there). For now, let’s walk. Imma start next week. For real. Nitawapee weekly report on my progress. Also, how many free apps are there on your play store for at home exercises? Mob sana. I’m downloading one as I write this.
The most importantest in all this is diet, me thinks. You’ll make very little progress in your fitness journey kama unakimbia daily na bado unakula vitu unhealthy. I am not a fitness guru or nutritionist but I think this one is pretty obvious. I will start with myself, by limiting the amount of junk food I stock up on kwa hao and those tempting Jumia deliveries when I’m feeling too lazy to cook. Of course cheat days lazima. It’s a work in progress. Don’t be too hard on yourself pia.
As we continue staying indoors most of the time let’s not nona out of control. Your bodies will thank you when all this is over. Tujaribu tu. We will rely on you influencers out there to continue giving us motisha!
