Saving During Troubled Times

Watu wangu, how are ya’ll holding up? I hope mumeanza kuzoea kukaa kwa hao and those of us who live for enjoyment I believe mmetulia sasa. I mean, what choice do we have anyway, with the 7pm curfew… I feel like I have back tracked back to my childhood days pale kwa esto, home by 7pm or I would feel my mother’s wrath. Ni hard, I know, but priss let’s just comply?

Aaaaanywei, for me, last week was a bit frustrating but now I’m realizing this working from home thing ain’t too bad (check in with me in a week or so, my feelings might change lol). I mean, no early mornings (heh, how glad am I that I don’t have to get up early to be stuck in a jav in traffic for an eternity), you have so much flexibility, and the best part of it all, you’re not spending any money.

Ebu think of your monthly expenses when it comes to commuting to work; mimi sijui fuel struggles but my bus fare pia si kidogo. Kwanza those times I feel like spoiling myself by taking a SWVL… And then since we are bachelors and hardly ever cook; also, because at what time?;  breakfast na lunch lazima tubuy like almost every day. Haya, then the weekend comes and since Sospeter, Wafula and myself have to udaku over the week’s events, lazima tupatane weekend. That’s more money spent.

So guys, during this quarantine period think of all the money you can save over the next few weeks. Since you’re definitely not going out for parte after parte or to enjoy a meal, you can cook more often instead, or learn to. You have all the time in the world to try recipes anyway. Msichome nyumba lakini. You’re also saving your transport money coz you literally can’t move about as much.

Weka weka your chums aside for a rainy day. Or save pole pole for that thing you’ve always been wanting to get yourself on your KCB MPESA. Kwanza now with KCB’s internet banking you can easily keep track of your finances without stressing about trips to the bank.

This year nilimake a promise to myself. Lazima nipande ndege. That is, if things will be back to normal completely over the months. We are planning a boys’ vacay with Sospeter and Wafula na ata tukona open slots so kama mnataka kujoin let us know J I know this is when it’s most important to save and save I will and you should too. Tulifungua Goal Account so by the time we plan our trip later in the year, we’ll be sorted. We don’t know how the next couple of months will play out and it’s good for you to start preparing for anything while you still can.

Also, I’m low key happy that I don’t get to leave the house as much. Shenanigans with the crew were a bit too much and I’m glad we’re taking a much needed break from each other.

Guys, continue taking care of yourselves and your loved ones. Take this time to work on yourself and your future, also financially. Tuko pamoja in this. And let’s not forget about those dealing with this either directly or indirectly… Ni hayo tu kwa sasa.

Over&Out,
